Shin-soo choo Biography
Shin-soo choo is a South Korean professional baseball outfielder and designated hitter for the SSG landers of the KBO league. He was born in Busna, South Korea, on July 13, 1982.
His full name is Shin-soo choo. His Nick name is Korean kid. He has played in Major Legue Baseball (MLB) for the Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds and Texas Rangers. He represented Korea at 2009, World baseball classic, his nation to the second place finish. He also helped Korea win a gold medal at the 2012 Asian games which help hin earn a military exemption since all south korea men must complete 2 years of military service before they are 30.
Shin-soo choo was selected as the most valuable player (MVP) and best pitcher of WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup as South Korea won the event. His wife name is Won-mi Ha.
Choo and his wife have three children named Moobin, Kunwoo and Sohui. Choo was financially very weak when he was playing minor league. He suffered too much as he skip meals to buy the diapers for his child. While playing minor league in the US, he just get $350 in a weak. Choo is the nephew of Park Jeong-Tae, a former second baseman for the Lotte giants. Lee Dae-Ho is close friend of Shin-Soo choo.

Choo was arrested and fined for a DUI in a Cleveland suburb and found guilty and charged for $675. His licences was suspended for six month and he was sentenced to jail for 27 days. After the jail, he told to reporters, ” I don’t want to make troubles on the team”, said, ” Every person has to learn. I regret that this happened. I apologize.”
On 21 February, 2021 Choo agreed to a one year $2.4MM contract with SSC landers of the Korea baseball Organization(KBO). Choo played 136 games for the team in 2021.
On 16 November, 2021 Choo re-signed with the landers on a one year, $2.3 million contract.
Shin-soo Choo has re-signed with the SSG Landers of the KBO for 2022, according to Jeeho Yoo of Yonhap News. The deal is of worth 2.7 billion, or around 2.3MM in US dollars.
Choo signed a one-year deal to return to his native South Korea for the 2021 season after the 16 consecutive MLB. At the time, Choo said he had a big offer to stay in North America, but he turned down because he wanted to play in front of his family.
Seattle Mariners:-
On 21 April, 2005 Choo made his major baseball league with Seattle Mariners but spent most of the 2005 season and first half of the 2006 season in the minor league with the Mariners, ‘Triple-A affiliate’ the Tacoma Rainiers. He was traded to the Cleveland Indians along with minor leaguer Shawn Nottingham on 26 July 2006. He was then first baseman Ben Broussard.
Cleveland Indians:-
In 2006: Choo hit a solo home run against his former club inna 1-0 victory after being traded for two days. In 45 games with Indians, he batted .295 with 3 home runs and 22 RBI.
In 2007: Choo spent starting regular season with the Buffalo Bisons, a AAA team in International League affiliated with the Indians, before being called up on 23 April, 2007 to take the place of injured baseman Andy Marte. He was optioned back to buffalo on 3 May.
In 2008: Choo was called upon 31 May in 2008 season and stayed with the Indians. He finished the season with .309 batting average, 98 hits, 14 home runs and 66 RBI. He made a record for all South korean by 98 hits and 66 RBI.
Choo was awarded the American league player of the month for September award presented by Sharp.
In 2009: Shin-soo Choo signed a one year contract in February 2009 with the Cleveland Indians. He broke all his own record for home runs, RBI, hits and stolen bases. He was only the man in AL to have .300 average, 20 home runs, and 20 stolen bases at the same time. He is the first Asian to accomplish the feat. He finished the season with 20 home runs, 21 steals, 86 RBI and .300 batting average.
World Baseball Classic:-
Choo was world baseball classic korean roaster on 2009. Cleveland has allowed Choo to play under the conditions that he can only play one game or less as an outfielder in the first round and in second round only two non consecutive games.
