Robert James ‘Gronk’ Gronkowaski is a former American Football tight end who played for the new England Patriots of the National football League (NFL). He played total 11 seasons of NFL, 9 seasons for New England Patriots and then play final two seasons for Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is a four time Super Bowl champion (XLIX, LI, LIII, LV), a five time pro Bowl Selection, a four time First Team All Pro selection and was selected in the NFL 2010s All decade team and NFL 100th Anniversary All Time Team. He was drafted by the patriots during the second round of the 2010 NFL draft, he set the single season record for receiving yards by tight end, with a total of 17 recieving touchdowns. Gronkowaski proved his worth for the following years. Undoubtedly, one of the best tights ends in the history of NFL. He is the first one tight ends to have three season with 10+ touchdowns as well as 1000+ recieving yards. In addition to his football career, he is also involved with several cooperation. To promote and endorse the products of Dunkin donuts, Gronk has also signed adeal with him. He also teamed with ‘opendorse’ to promote a mobile app named “NFL showdown: Football Manager”. He has also launched an energy drink which goes by his nickname ‘Gronk’. Just because of his fun loving personality, he has appeared in fictionalized version of himself in the American comedy movie ‘Entourage‘ as well as in episode of ‘Family guy‘ an American adult comedy series.
Gronk early life and family background
Gronkowaski was born on 14 May 1989 in Amherst, New York and was raised in nereby Williamsville. His father name is Gordon Gronkowaski and his mother name is Diane Gronkowaski. He is the second youngest son of Gordon Gronkowaski and Diane Gronkowaski. He is of polish descent. He has four brother and interestingly all of them are involved in sports during college. His father is a former college football gaurd for Syracuse University from 1977-1981 and later he founded a business of high end fitness equipment. Gronk’s grandfather name Lgnatius Gronkowaski represented the United States in cycling at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, France and held five world records. His brother’s name- Geordie, Dan, Chris and Glenn. Gronk’s parent divorced in 2008.
After completing his graduation of high school, Gronkowaski attended the University of Arizona as a pre business major and played for the Arizona Wildcats Football team from 2007 to 2009 under head coach Mike stoops.
He played hockey when he was of 14, and then start playing basketball. He attended Williamsville North High school (WNHS) for the first three years of his high school. He played tight end, and defensive end as well as freshman kickoff specialist, due to his biggest feet on the team, centre in basketball: and first baseman in baseball for the WNHS Spartans. He was named as All western New York first team and All State second team player. Gronkowaski was in the National Honor society, citing maths as his best subject and english as worst.
Gronkowaski recorded 28 reception for 525 yards and six touchdowns. He was named The Sporting News freshman all American Rivals. Com freshman all American, the sporting news freshman Pac-10 and all pac-10 honourable mention player.
He missed the first three games of the 2008 season, but later recorded 47 reception for 672 yards and a team best ten touchdowns. Then he scored five touchdowns against UCLA and Washington in his first two games. He was twice named as John Mackey National tight end of the weak. Gronkowaski also named an Associated press third team All American and all Pac-10 first-team tight end.
Gronkowaski was ranked as the ninth best player of the ‘NFL top 100 Players of 2016’. Though he had been playing brilliantly during all seasons but in 2016, he finished the season with 25 reception on 38 target for 540 yards and three touchdowns. During this, he suffered two severe injuries due to which he was reserved injured for most of the season.
Awards and achievements
Gronkowaski include some of the important awards like ‘NFL recieving touchdown leader’ (2011) and ‘NFL comeback of the year’ (2014).
He is the first tight ends to have completed three seasons with 10+ touchdowns and 1000+ receiving yards and also the first one to have achieved most offensive touchdowns in his first two seasons.
