In 1981, he successfully debuted in first-class Cricket due to his tremendous on-field cricket skills. He played well and made it to his international debut in 1983. He was a top-order batsman during his cricket career. In 1989, Navjot Singh Sidhu made himself among 5 Indian Cricketers of the Year. In his cricket career, he presented many notable aspects and traits of his skills. People started knowing him for his skill of hitting sixes effortlessly. He was on the national team for four years. He played for the country during this time. His first One Day Innings was against Australia, and he scored 73 balls out of 79 balls. In this match, he had hit five sixes and four fours. He played another match with great passion against New Zealand, and in this match, he gave a match-winning performance by making 75 runs, including four sixes and four fours. Against Australia and Zimbabwe, he scored 50 runs each. This was the match after which Navjot Singh Sidhu became the first player who made four half-centuries in the first instance in One Day Innings. He won Man-of-the-Match while playing against Bangladesh as he scored a half-century. While he was playing against New Zealand, he made a century in the first innings of Bangalore. While playing the match, he amazingly batted for 295 minutes and also made 116 runs in 195 balls. He toured Pakistan from 1989-to 1990. In his fourth test in Sialkot, he gave his best performance. He stood with Sachin Tendulkar and scored 97 runs. Due to injuries, he was ruled out of the series. He made every possible effort to create an achievement for himself.

In 1999, he decided to take retirement from playing Cricket. After fulfilling his career in Cricket, Navjot Singh Sidhu had a keen desire to serve his fans as a commentator and entertain them.
