Boris johnson
Sajid Vajid, the health secretary and Rishi Sunak, the chancellor of the Exchequer both most senior Cabinet Minister of Britain resigned on Tuesday(5 July 2022) which again raised a question over Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s judgement, loyalty and honesty. This major step of resignation of both most senior Cabinet Minister could spell the end of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s leadership after month of scandals.
Rishi Sunak and Sajid Vajid both resigned within a minutes of each other after a day in which they cost Johnson for the support of the men who is responsible for tackling two of the biggest issues facing Britain— The cost of living crises and surging covid-19 infection. The Prime Minister was forced to acknowledge he had to change his story on the way he handled allegations of sexual misconduct by a senior member of his government. The resignation appeared to be a coordinated move against the Conservative party leader amid the latest in a long string of scandal.
Javid said in his resignation letter, “It was enormous regret that I must tell you that I can no longer, in good conscience continue serving in his government.” “I am instinctively a team player but the British people also rightly expect integrity from their government.”
Sunak said “The public rightly expect government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously.” He added, “I recognise this may be my last ministerial job, but I believe these standards are worth fighting for and that is why I am resigning.”
It has been seen that they both are very responsible, most senior Cabinet Minister and well experienced for the government. Their departure were a huge blow to the prime minister, because they both are the charge for two big issues facing britain right now—the cost of living crises and the surging of Covid-19 issues.
